Background:

This report aims to provide an overview of the findings during the visit to Kranti Nursery, Khanapur. The purpose of the visit was to observe and assess the various plants available at the nursery. The observations made during the visit will be outlined in the following sections.

Findings:

During the nursery visit, over 100 plants were observed and assessed. The plants were categorized based on their types, health conditions, and overall appearance. The findings are as follows:


1. Plant Types:

a) Flowering Plants: A variety of flowering plants, including roses, lilies, and orchids, were found at the nursery. These plants exhibited vibrant and healthy blooms, indicating good care and maintenance.

b) Foliage Plants: The nursery also housed a wide assortment of foliage plants, such as ferns, palms, and ivy. These plants showcased lush green leaves and appeared to be well-nurtured.

c) Succulents and Cacti: Several varieties of succulents and cacti were present at the nursery. These plants displayed distinct shapes and textures, adding a unique touch to the overall collection.




2. Plant Health Conditions:

a) Healthy Plants: The majority of the observed plants were in excellent health. They exhibited well-developed foliage, vibrant colors (in the case of flowering plants), and no signs of disease or insect infestation.

b) Minor Issues: While most plants were in good shape, a few showed minor issues like yellowing leaves or wilting. These issues may have been due to recent environmental changes or insufficient watering. However, with proper care and attention, these plants can easily recover.

c) Diseased Plants: A very small percentage of plants were identified as diseased. These plants exhibited visible signs of fungal or bacterial infections, such as spots on leaves or rotting. It is crucial to isolate and treat these plants promptly to prevent further spread of the disease.





3. Overall Appearance:

a) Plant Display: The nursery had a well-organized and aesthetically pleasing display of plants. The plants were arranged in a manner that allowed easy navigation for customers and created an inviting atmosphere.

b) Cleanliness: The nursery maintained a high level of cleanliness throughout the premises. There were no signs of litter, debris, or plant waste, indicating a well-maintained environment.

c) Staff Assistance: The nursery staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and readily available to assist customers. Their expertise in plant care and willingness to provide guidance contributed to a positive customer experience.


Conclusion:

The visit to Kranti Nursery revealed a diverse range of plant types, with a majority of plants being in good health. The nursery's well-organized display and attentive staff further enhanced the overall experience. However, some plants showed minor issues or signs of disease, emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring and timely intervention. Overall, Kranti Nursery appears to be a reputable establishment that prioritizes the health and satisfaction of its customers.

 The department of Botany was established in 1990. Botany was taught a upto B.Sc. part-II since 1990. In view of lively rural surroundings and rich diversity in plants and animals, there has been candid demand for opening botany department in the college and therefore the management had decided to open botany subject as special subject. The department was started as a degree course as special subject since 1992 and then continued as three year degree course. Department has always placed emphasis on teaching and co-curricular activities. It is well equipped and has specious laboratories with departmental library.
