Inauguration of Botany Hall and Practical Laboratory named : NITYAKALYANI

 Introduction:

This report aims to provide an overview of the recent inauguration events at our college, specifically focusing on the inauguration of the Botany Hall and the Practical Laboratory. The target audience for this report includes college staff and students who may be interested in the development and enhancement of our college's academic facilities.


1. Inauguration of Botany Hall:

The inauguration of the Botany Hall "NITYAKALYANI" took place on 3rd August 2017 at 11.00 am. The event was attended by several dignitaries, including hon'able Kakade, hon'able Kulkarni,  Principal Dr. N.D.Patil, Head of the Botany Department Dr. S.S. Patil, Teachers and Students. The Botany Hall is well equipped with resources for the study of botany. It consists of spacious classrooms, a research laboratory etc.

During the inauguration ceremony, the college Principal highlighted the significance of the Botany Hall in promoting scientific research and enhancing the learning experience for students. The guest speakers emphasized the importance of botany in understanding the environment and conserving biodiversity. They expressed their appreciation for the college's commitment to providing students with cutting-edge facilities.



2. Inauguration of Practical Laboratory:

The inauguration of the Practical Laboratory also took place  on 3rd August 2017 at 11.00 am. This laboratory is designed to cater to the practical needs of students enrolled in various science programs. It offers advanced equipment and materials required for conducting experiments for various disciplines of Botany.

The laboratory inauguration ceremony began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by speeches from college faculty members and guest experts. The speakers emphasized the significance of practical learning in strengthening theoretical knowledge and developing essential scientific skills. They commended the college for investing in a well-equipped laboratory that would enhance students' practical understanding of scientific concepts.  The department of Botany was established in 1990. Botany was taught a upto B.Sc. part-II since 1990. In view of lively rural surroundings and rich diversity in plants and animals, there has been candid demand for opening botany department in the college and therefore the management had decided to open botany subject as special subject. The department was started as a degree course as special subject since 1992 and then continued as three year degree course. Department has always placed emphasis on teaching and co-curricular activities. It is well equipped and has specious laboratories with departmental library. The department takes a conscious effort to expand its teaching programs bringing together novel development in the field with traditional areas of botany through field excursions and projects.
